Performed one system maintenance. Came across a heat pump system that is not cooling effectively, low delta T of 14 degrees prompting opening of evaporator coil. Noticed oil on elbows and rusted evaporator coil. Performed electronic leak detection and confirmed evaporator coil is leaking refrigerant. Gave homeowner options after finishing up the rest of the maintenance. Option 1 was to add r410a only, option 2 was to replace the air handler only. Gave GOOD, BETTER AND BEST options. Homeowner did not want to look at basic system. Wants something more efficient and reliable. There was a time constraint so a decision was not made today.
