I had a tech named Collin come out and diagnose a failed blower motor on my A/C unit. He was knowledgable and quickly able to see the issue. Due to the age of the unit of ~20 years he was not interested in a quick repair and became very pushy in trying to sell a new full unit for the price of $16-20k. AIter I declined multiple times he finally came with a repair bill that included a new OEM motor to repair the failed one, but was also very pushy in getting me to replace other things and eventually quoted me $4.6k for everything. I went and found a universal replacement motor at a nearby store for ~$650 and they walked me through the process of replacing it myself. So glad I did not take the recommendation from the AC Pros Tech!! They are obviously working on a commission basis and only want to sell the most expensive solution.

Fall heater maintenance one system electric heat strips. Upon arrival the system was turned on and tested in heat mode. The blower motor, heat strips, filter, electrical connections, and evaporator cool we're all inspected. The filter is in good shape at this time. The system is heating properly at this time.

Fall heater maintenance one system gas furnace. Upon arrival of the system was not operating properly. One of the furnace safety switches was found to have been unplugged. It is likely that this happened on the spring visit when we came out to redo the gas drip leg. The system was then started up in heat mode and tested. The blower motor, heat exchanger, burners, flame sensor, surface igniter, furnace safeties, ductwork, vent system, gas lines, and electrical connections are all inspected. The filter was changed with one provided by the homeowner. The homeowner mentioned an issue of the front bedroom not getting enough air flow. The dampers were adjusted to the other rooms in order to push more air to the front bedroom. If this does not resolve the issue it is recommended to consider adding an extra vent or removing the y in the ductwork to the front room. The system is heating properly at this time.

Heat performance tuneup times one system. Inspect blower, evaporator, and ductwork. System system is a three zone set up. One of the three zones are not reading properly. Remove thermostat from subbase and tighten down low-voltage wires. Client stated his previous unit died because of compressor failure. There are Cottonwood trees in the area which could have contributed to the failure of the compressor. Tom would like me to come back and do his spring check up to address a blower issue.

Fall heat tune up two systems. Upon arrival the systems were both turned on in heat mode and tested. The blower motors, capacitors, heat strips, temperature difference, and electrical connections were all inspected on the indoor units and are in good shape. The upstairs system was also tested outdoors for refrigerant pressures as well as defrost controls and electrical connections as it is a heat pump as well. Both systems are heating properly at this time. The maintenance was paid for on a previous invoice during a service call.

Preformed the fall maintenance on the system, all checks are within manufactory specifications. Filter needs to be replaced. All other checks are well within manufactory specs.
Collin F.
Preformed the fall maintenance on the 2 systems. Found the main system to have burn marks on the control board. Both units need to have the blowers cleaned and flame sensors replaced. The bedroom system has an abnormal ammount of dust and a duct cleaning should be preformed. See pictures and estimates.
