I was Dispatched to a no cooling call. Upon arrival I found I found a shorted Dual Run Capacitor. I replaced the Capacitor with a Turbo Universal Dual Run Capacitor and added a Hard Start Kit. I cleaned and serviced the System. Everything appears to be functioning as expected. At this time. The Hard Start Kit is a Start Capacitor with a Potential Relay. We do not use PTCR Hard Start Kits.
Heat performance tuneup times two systems. Inspect blowers, evaporator‘s, ductwork and heat exchangers. Test all safety features are limit and roll outs. I checked heat exchanger‘s for cracks and I found none.Temperature rise on both units were good. Changed out filter client supplied. Also washed condenser coil‘s since we did not do a summer maintenance for Edina. Systems Are operating at manufacture specs at this time.
I was Dispatched to a call for a leaking Secondary Drain Line. Upon arrival I found the Main Drain clogged. The Main Drain is a 3/4” Drain being fed by both Systems. I cleared the Drain with Dry Nitrogen and ran Cleaner through. Everything appears to be functioning as expected. At this time. I warned Customer due to elevated heat and humidity this Summer we have had to deal with many, many clogged Drains. I informed her that sometimes a Plumber has to get involved due to the House Plumbing being clogged beyond our ability to address.
I was Dispatched to a no cooling call. Upon arrival I found the Downstairs’ System running but not cooling. I found the A/C Dual Run Capacitor shorted. I replaced the Capacitor with a Turbo Universal Capacitor and rechecked System Operation. The Compressor and Fan Motor would start and run but the System was obviously low on Refrigerant. We need to call tomorrow with Price and Availability to replace the Lennox Coil. I cleaned and serviced the System. I then charged the System. The Evaporator Coil is leaking refrigerant. I rechecked System Operation and found everything to be Functioning as expected. At this time.
Goodman unit was giving a error code for an open start circuit so I checked capacitor and the herm side only had 10mfd so I replaced with a 35/5turbo and system is now operational.
Found bad 40/5 cap . Replaced with turbo 40/5 and rinsed unit off for customer . Got split of 20 degrees .
Coil was frozen when I arrived , after thawing it out and checking the filter and board I found that the blower was not starting even when I jumped it . The blower went out which caused the coil to freeze . Gave the sister a price to replace motor to tell homeowners and see if they want us to order that part .
Primary wasnt draining and emergency pan line connects to primary so water was pouring into house. Zero access to other side of air handler but cleared lines and recommended to customer a permanent fix where new drain lines would need to be installed to avoid this issue from reacurring.
Evap pan is rusted and leaking from the front right before where drain line connects and is dripping down to the first floor. We looked the carrier pan up and they do not make it any longer so I tried to seal with glue and mastic and told them to turn it back on in a hour OS so giving it time to dry and if that doesn't work then customer will call and we will go from there .
Perform Leak search on single system home. Check outdoor unit. Took the top off and looked by the discharge line that has been known to leak on Trane compressors before. Did not find a leak there. Reassemble condenser and performed Leak search on the evaporator coil. My electronic leak detector did get a hit on a leak. I am going to leave a quote for new coil inside. Recommendation today is to change out the 15-year-old system.
Cleaned both condensers, changed both filters customer provided, checked condensate lines and float switches . Made sure pressures were at a manufacturer recommended 10degree subcool .
Cleaned coil , checked pressures and amps, checked filter and condensate line . Customer has two new systems customer wants quote for work that is recommended .(see notes) *ptrap *Float switch *Drain isolater *Mastic seal around both plenums *Two ducts are barely hanging on . Secure them *Drain pan needs adjusting *Sediment trap customer would like a quote emailed for the items listed .
Cleaned evap coil and all dust inside unit , ran unit and cleaned again . They got a new filter that we put in as well . Job complete.
Cleared primary line and also found a duct that had fallen on drain line preventing it from flowing freely . I hung the duct back up and system is draining properly .
Teller said the air got to 78 Friday but has been working fine since . I checked rtu out and found no issues and no alerts on the board or the thermostat. The filter was very dirty and they are going to change it . The evap coil is also pretty dirty and I recommend a cleaning before it gets worse.
Checked system in heat , cleaning flame sensor and checkijgbignighter and making sure system had no gas leaks. Checked inducer amps and blower amps I also found condensate line clogged so I cleared it out . I also checked system in cool . I did find some exposed low bolt wires outside that will need to be addressed .
Roof is sagging after 42 years of constant supporting 1 of 2 units in the home. The bracing for the unit is still there but it has sagged due to gravity and so many years in the attic. I have arranged for a contractor to come and make repairs before the roof is to be put on. No charge today since it's within the one year of installation.
Extended previous supply duct and turned it into a return for sauna heater system.
One time maintenance on three air conditioners. Changed out one of three filters that client supplied. Verified primary drains are clear at this time. Check temperature difference on all three units. All three have 18 to a 20 degree temperature split. Check outdoor units. Refrigerant levels are good at this time. Washed all condenser coils inside and out. Systems are operating at manufacturers specs at this time.
Added 1 lb 410 a to west unit as my subcool was at 6 and system calls for 10. Caliberated tstat it was off 2 degrees and inspected ducts and airflow .
Unit outside was tripping the breaker inside. Remove top and found an out of sight hot wire for the fan had rubbed a hole through the insulation. Made necessary repairs to the wire system came on and is operating properly at this time.
Maintenance X 2. I cleaned and serviced both System’s. Everything appears to be functioning as expected. At this time.
(Warranty )Found hard start bad again . Replaced and fixed loose wire on other unit . Both are cooling properly .
I was Dispatched to a 3-System Maintenance. Upon arrival I found 2-Systems with clogged Drain Lines. I installed Drain Line Isolators and P-Traps on both Systems and cleared the Drain Lines.
I was Dispatched to a no cooling call. Upon arrival I found the Dual Run Capacitor for the A/C Condenser Fan Motor and Compressor shorted. I replaced the Capacitor and added a Compressor Hard Start Kit. I can not get the Compressor to consistently energize and when it does try it trips the Breaker. I removed all added components and returned the System to the way it was when I arrived. The is a 3.5-Ton Carrier R-410A A/C with a Brand New Rheem Gas Furnace in the Attic. I am forwarding to Kevin!
